We commemorated the day doing things as a family that we loved to do. Nikki especially enjoyed being outdoors, going for walks, having picnics. On Wed 6th Oct, the sun 🌞 was beaming down, in complete contrast from the day before.⛈⛈⛈☂☂ We climbed Loughrigg Fell and placed a memory pebble on the summit. We then picnicked at Loughrigg Tarn before returning to Grasmere doing one of Nikkis favourite walks, Skelwith Bridge to Elterwater. In the evening we visited what we now refer to as ‘Nikkis Fell’ Latrigg. Thurs brought a complete change in weather⛈⛈⛈ so Sue insisted on a ‘retail therapy’ day. 🤦♂️🤦♂️💷💷Ouch! Friday we ventured up Binsey Fell and were elated and extremely emotional to find one of Nikkis memory pebbles on the summit. From there, we made our way to Dodd Wood and were greeted by a lovely, friendly Robin on the carpark. We then ascended to the summit of Dodd and again we left a pebble in loving memory of Nikki.
We felt Nikkis presence with us every step of the way, there were so many signs and although this milestone was exceedingly painful and tough, we took comfort from them and smiled.🥰🥰
We know Nikki would be very proud of how we marked her 1st Anniversary and she would have been smiling 😍😍down giving us the ‘thumbs up’👍👍👍👍 #ourloveourlife👪💞 #foreverinourhearts💝💖
